The Garifuna Heritage Foundation (TGHF) will host the 4th International Garifuna Festival from March 8th to the 12th.
The event forms part of activities to observe National Heroes and Heritage Month and will be held under the theme: ‘The Garifuna Heritage and Culture as a Reflection of the Caribbean Indigenous experience’.
Speaking at today’s launch, President of the Foundation, David ‘Darkie’ Williams, said the event is part of a national thrust to reclaim and retrieve aspects of the Garifuna heritage.
Mr. Williams said there are many benefits to be derived from the retrieval of the Garifuna culture.
