An appeal has been made for all forms of media to portray women more positively and to stop sexualizing women in their programs.
This appeal was made by Coordinator of the Windward Island Farmers Association (WINFA), Kozel Peters Fraser, who said that the nation’s women must never be taken for granted.
She made this statement during a Women’s Conference hosted by WINFA in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), to observe International Women’s Day on Tuesday.
Mrs. Peters Fraser said females still experience discrimination in the media and this must be stopped.
Mrs. Peters Fraser also added that women should no longer be left behind on matters of National Development.
