Local Business persons here are being advised to increase their vigilance during the Carnival Season, to ensure that they do not receive counterfeit notes.

The word of caution came from Police Inspector Hezron Ballantyne of the Major Crimes Unit and the Criminal Investigations Department, during the On the Beat programme aired on NBC Radio last week.
Inspector Ballantyne said there tends to be an increase in the incidence of counterfeit notes surfacing around Carnival and Christmas time, and small establishments are usually more vulnerable.
