The 2016 National Dance Festival closed with the distribution of awards on Saturday evening.
In the Primary School Category :- The most outstanding Primary School Award in the area of Popular Group Dance went to the Kingstown Preparatory School – while the award for Most Outstanding Primary School in the area of Popular Solo Dance was presented to Ariel Fraser of the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School.
The Arabesque Dance Company were awarded the Most outstanding Community Group in modern dance, modern solo dance, Most outstanding community group in junior popular dance. They were also given a prestigious awarded for the most outstanding community group.
Arabesque Dance Company also won all the awards for Most Outstanding Community Group in the Senior Category. Award for the Most Outstanding Primary School went to the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School while the Most Outstanding Award in the Juniors Category went to the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School.
Most outstanding Community group in Social Dance, Social Duet and Social Trio went to the La Gracia Dance Company while the Most Promising Dancer in the Primary School category went to the St. Mary’s RC School.
