Chairman of the National Reparations Commission, Adrian Odle, is underscoring the significance of black history month as a reminder of the contributions of black people to history and the progress of the nation.
Odle notes that black history month is not just about the past, but about understanding how history continues to impact the present and future of Vincentians.
Odle also underscores the need for greater recognition of the late Robert Milton Cato, the first Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and a central figure in the nation’s independence movement.
To further this effort, the National Reparations Commission hosted a lecture Monday February 10, featuring former Minister of Health Luke Browne to spotlight Cato’s leadership, and lasting impact on the nation.
