
Union Island All-Stars defeated Bequia All-Stars 68-56, while Canouan Islanders whipped Mustique Icons 49-34 in the Digicel Grenadines Basketball Championship in Union Island over the weekend.
On Friday, Stevorn Taylor was Union Island All-Stars leading scorer with 15 points, 4 steals, 1 assist. The leading scorer for Bequia All-Stars was Kirstin Lampkin with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The leading scorer for Canouan Islanders was Warrican Garrick with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, while Glenn Smith was top scorer for Mustique Icon with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist.
On Saturday, Bequia All Stars won from Mustique Icons 67-53.
The top-scorer for Bequia All Stars was Keithroy Lavia with 26 points, while Mustique Icon top-scorer was Ishama Mc Cree with 27 points.
Stevorn Taylor hit a game high 24 points, 4 assists and 1 steal as Union Island All-Stars defeated Canouan Islanders 67-54. The leading scorer for Canouan Islanders was Warrican Garrick with 20 points, 5 blocks, 2 assists, 2 steals, 13 rebounds.
On Sunday, Union Island All-Stars beat Mustique Icon 96-65. The top-scorer for Union Island All-Stars was Stevorn Taylor with 18 points, 7 assists and 14 rebounds, while Ishama Mc Cree hit a game high 30 points for Mustique Icon.
And, Bequia All-Stars ousted Canouan Islanders 56-53. Leading the scoring for Bequia All-Stars was Kelan Edwards with 12 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 assist and for Canouan Islanders, Levi Kydd had 14 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist.
Union Island All-Stars top the first round standings, second Bequia All-Stars, Canouan Islanders third and fourth Mustique Icon.
The first semi-final will be played on Friday between Union Island All-Stars and Mustique Icon from 7:30 pm and at 9:30 pm, Bequia All-Stars will meet Canouan Islanders in the other semi-final.
The Final will be played on Saturday and all matches will be played in Bequia. The Presentation and Awards Ceremony will take place following the Final.
