St. Vincent and the Grenadines secured a thrilling one-run win over Grenada yesterday at the Sion Hill Playing Field to win the two-match Senior Women 50-overs Cricket Series, 2-nil.
Batting first, St. Vincent and the Grenadines reached 148 off 45.5-overs, Camille Garrick 31, Captain Juliana Nero 25, Cordel Jack 18 not out, along with a healthy contribution of 38 extras to the SVG Total. Afy Fletcher grabbed 4 for 26, Aria Fortune 2 for 27, and the pacey Hollis Charles 2 for 34.
Grenada innings closed on 147 off 45.2-overs, Carina Noel hit a solid 57, Afy Fletcher 18, Debbie-Ann Lewis 12 and extras contributed 33. Latoya Providence took 3 for 26, Shenisha Daniel had 2 for 23.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines won the 1st match on Saturday by two runs. Grenada won the Twenty/20 match by 13 runs on Sunday.
Dominica will play against St. Lucia over the upcoming weekend in St. Lucia, following which a Windward Islands Team will be selected for the upcoming West Indies Women’s Tournament later this year in Guyana.
