
Several topics related to school safety were discussed here this week, during a Forum on Comprehensive School Safety, hosted by the Ministry of Education.
The forum was held on Wednesday, at the University of the West Indies Global Campus with the theme: Resilient Schools for a Secure Future.
Addressing the opening session, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Myccle Burke highlighted the impact which previous natural disasters have had on the education sector in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening school safety to better protect students and education infrastructure in the face of future disasters.
Meanwhile, Senior Education Officer at the School Safety Unit Dr. Idelia Ferdinand said despite the progress made, much more can be done to improve school safety.
